Professor Kelly's work is broadly concerned with the relationship between knowledge, technology and social organisation. Opportunities for learning abound in the workplace, yet many times these opportunities are missed. A key leadership role is to recognise and optimise these opportunities to enhance individual, team and organisational learning.

Séamas has a PhD in Management/Organisation Studies from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering & Microelectronics (Hons, 1st Class) from University College Cork. Séamas' research interests are in the area of critical organisation and technology studies. He is a co-founder, and former Director, of the UCD Centre for Innovation, Technology & Organisation (CITO), and has held visiting appointments at the Universities of Cambridge and Sydney.
