The Sustainability Academy: Making It Work Inside Your Organisation

Event Details

This half-day workshop is designed for people working behind the scenes — in finance, operations, HR and other internal roles, those who play a key part in shaping how their organisation runs day to day. It focuses on how sustainability can be built into internal systems and processes in a way that supports both people and performance.

The session looks at how sustainability can help reduce waste, improve efficiency and create a better working environment. It also explores how HR and operational policies can reflect sustainability values in a way that strengthens recruitment, retention and staff engagement. These are practical changes that can lead to real savings, better staff morale and a more resilient organisation.

For those in internal roles, this is a chance to step back and look at the bigger picture. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of how your work connects to your organisation’s wider sustainability goals, and how small changes in internal practice can have a lasting impact.

Meeting in person gives you the space to focus, ask questions and learn from others in similar roles. It’s also a chance to connect with peers who are facing the same challenges and to share ideas that you can bring back to your own team.

What the session covers

  • How sustainability can be integrated into internal operations and why it matters
  • Ways to improve workplace processes and reduce environmental impact
  • How to reflect sustainability in HR practices, from recruitment to retention
  • The link between internal sustainability and staff engagement, wellbeing and performance

Who it’s for

This workshop is for professionals in finance, operations, HR and other internal-facing roles who want to make their organisation more efficient, responsible and people-focused. If you’re involved in shaping how your workplace runs, this session will help you bring sustainability into that work in a practical, meaningful way.
