Join us in partnership with Coface this September for a business breakfast on ‘Navigating trade risks in an uncertain environment.’  Jonathan Steenberg, Senior Economist at Coface and Christophe Souquet, Risk Underwriting Director will discuss navigating global disruption, economic shifts, trade tensions and Business Risk.

The global economy is once again facing significant disruption. Trade uncertainty, geopolitical friction, and a fragile economic recovery across much of the developed world are reshaping the economic landscape. These dynamics are not only influencing the broader macroeconomic outlook but are also driving volatility in interest rates and currency markets.

Date:
Wed 24 Sep 2025
Time:
08:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Venue:
Dublin Chamber, 7 Clare Street, Dublin 2 D02 F9O2
Jonathan will explore how these evolving global trends are impacting trade flows, business operations, and financial risk – both from a macroeconomic and microeconomic perspective. He will examine how this impact companies’ margins and the ripple effects on global insolvency rates.

Few countries are as exposed to these shifts than Ireland, an export-driven economy situated at the crossroads of trade tensions between the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom.

Christophe will give an overview of 2025 and beyond. He will review trade credit risks faced by companies in a fast changing and volatile political, economic and financial environment and shall explore the challenges and opportunities in the different parts of the world (Europe, USA, Asia Pacific, Middle East …) including a review of the main trade sectors in these regions as well as Coface own payment experience in both mature and emerging markets.
