Roundtable Discussion on Hybrid and Remote Working Developments

Event Details

On the 7th March 2024, advancements were seen in the area of remote working with the commencement of the Right to Request Remote Work and the Workplace Relations Commission’s (WRC) publication of the Code of Practice. The Code offers guidelines for both employers and employees to consider when making and reviewing applications for remote working.

Initial concerns for Dublin businesses included the heightened responsibility for health and safety, setting limits on geographic jurisdictions and the administrative burden amongst others.

Now, eight weeks on from its release, Dublin Chamber wants to know your business’s initial experience in navigating the Code and managing remote working requests, as well as existing arrangements. Your insights are crucial for shaping our advocacy strategies and ensuring that the voices of our members are heard.

The roundtable discussion will be held online at 12pm on Friday 17th May. The session will last approximately 60 minutes, and we hope to have a robust exchange of views and sharing of business experiences.

Discussion will be based on your individual input and broadly framed by the following questions:

1) Has your business encountered any difficulties or incurred additional costs as a result of seeking to comply with the WRC’s Code of Practice to date?

2) What measures or approaches has your business adopted or intends to adopt in order to develop a remote working policy that aligns with the Code’s guidelines? Has this had any wider impact on employee relations or contracts of employment?

3) Do you have any key asks of Government or recommendations that would support your business in implementing the Code effectively within your organisation?
