Ireland’s immigration system is becoming increasingly sophisticated as the Irish Government continues to make administrative and legislative changes to improve the efficiency of applications, while raising Ireland’s profile as a key business destination in Europe.

In this session on 28th May from 8.30am, Fragomen will look at possible upcoming legislative and policy changes in employment immigration, as well as looking at steps businesses can take in anticipation of this change. Additionally, Fragomen will look at the impact of skills shortages on employers in Dublin, and proactive approaches to addressing these changes.

Deirdre Murray, Senior Manager, Fragomen

Dee is a Senior Manager at Fragomen’s Dublin practice. With a background in law, immigration policy and a passion for fostering economic growth and innovation, she brings significant experience particularly in corporate immigration policy to the table. Over nearly a decade at Fragomen, she has provided strategic counsel and tailored corporate immigration advice to both local Irish businesses as well as global multinational corporations mainly across the financial services, technology and pharma sectors.  She also currently leads the practice’s business development strategy in Ireland. Dee is also a 2024 Ambassador for the Dublin Chamber. 

Stephen McCrea, Senior Immigration Manager, Fragomen

Stephen is also a Senior Immigration Manager with Fragomen. He is an accomplished Irish qualified lawyer and senior immigration professional, known for his significant contributions to corporate and personal immigration, policy design, and compliance management. He focuses on advising clients on navigating changes in immigration legislation, the political landscape affecting corporate immigration and compliance & enforcement considerations. Stephen's work has included leading projects on submissions to the Government of Ireland on employment permit bills and advising on the immigration-related impacts of international trade agreements, showcasing his deep understanding of how global politics influence corporate immigration
