As the appointed Programme Director of MetroLink, Dr Sean Sweeney is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the project that will provide a new high-frequency, sustainable, public transport system for Dublin.  

The first megaproject of its kind for Ireland. 

Sean has a wealth of experience on major projects across the globe and, most recently, was responsible for the development and construction of the City Rail Link project in Auckland, New Zealand, which is the country’s largest-ever infrastructure project. 

With over 30 years’ experience in construction and a recognised expert in the procurement and delivery of large capital works, Sean has previously held positions as Executive Director for Major Projects Victoria in Australia and has served as CEO for Justice Infrastructure in New south Wales.
