Dublin Chamber are delighted to be partnering with Griffith College for our first Masterclass of 2025. Greg O'Brien, lead researcher in AI transformation at Griffith College, will present an AI Masterclass, offering a comprehensive overview of the current AI landscape.

Greg will explore:
- The landscape of rapidly evolving AI capabilities, highlighting its rate of adoption across industries. This will be complemented by real-world sector-based case studies, showcasing how AI is reshaping work environments, from healthcare and finance to manufacturing.
- A key focus of the session will be on the AI skills employers are likely to need in 2025, emphasizing the importance of upskilling in areas sector-specific tools, data analysis, and AI-driven decision-making.
- The challenges and opportunities AI brings, particularly in relation to energy consumption and chip manufacturing, where demand for efficient, high-performing technologies only continues to rise.
- A glimpse into the future of AI, exploring the potential innovations and shifts we can expect as we move further into 2025.
Greg O'Brien is a senior educational technologist with over 20 years in distance and blended learning, leading digital education initiatives, and shaping national AI and academic integrity guidance in various advisory roles. He works in e-Learning at Griffith College Dublin to provide expertise, capacity, support, and guidance to all faculties, and students in digital matters. He actively participates in several college committees, including the Special Advisory Group on AI, the Education Learning and Development steering group, the Web Review committee, and leads the College's Data Group, promoting data-informed governance. He serves as the academic integrity officer for QQI's National Academic Integrity Network, and specifically contributing to training on academic integrity and AI for Working Group 5, that played a key role in producing national AI guidance for H.E.I.s, and teachers in September 2023.
