Siobhán Dunphy, Founder, Bon+Berg

Siobhán Dunphy is the founder behind Bon+Berg, an environmentally conscious lingerie brand established in 2021. After spending over seven years in academic research, including postdoctoral positions at prestigious institutions like the University of Edinburgh and Trinity College Dublin, she decided to venture on a different path.
Motivated by the fashion industry's alarming environmental and social impacts, the former engineer turned designer embarked on a mission to create a better alternative, focusing her efforts on intimate apparel. For Siobhán, our undergarments hold significant power: as the first thing we put on in the morning, they should instil confidence not just in our bodies but in the choices we make.
Siobhán envisions Bon+Berg as a catalyst for change, as a platform to raise awareness about the harmful consequences of fast fashion on both humanity and the environment. Embracing a slow fashion philosophy, she rejects the industry's relentless pursuit of trends, opting instead for a more sustainable approach through mindful design and thoughtful iteration.
Inspired by nature and made from responsibly sourced beech tree fibres, each carefully crafted piece in the collection embodies softness, comfort, and elegance without compromise, and underscores Siobhán’s dedication to quality and sustainability.
Bon+Berg has been featured in the Irish Times Magazine, Irish Tatler, Irish Business Post, Irish Daily Mail, and Image.ie.

Alice Tevlin, Rua Food

Alice Tevlin began her journey as a freelance chef in 2018, focusing on healthy meals. Adapting to lockdown, she crafted treats for local cafes, leading to Rua's weekly expansion to 50+ retailers. Rua's newest product is breastfeeding support. Amidst early motherhood, Alice noticed a gap in Ireland's lactation cookie market, inspiring Rua's Chocolate Oatmeal 'Lactation' Cookies to address breastfeeding needs. Rua's products are free from gluten and mostly plant-based.

Sponsor Speaker

Claire Mac Namee, TrailblazHER, TU Dublin

As Head of Enterprise Engagement at Technological University Dublin Claire leads the University’s enterprise support team. TU Dublin is home to over 100 start-up and scale-up companies, located across 80,000 sq. ft. of University enterprise space, in City West, Tallaght, Blanchardstown and Grangegorman. Through these centres and their supports ideas are transformed into commercial enterprises that generate wealth and employment across the Dublin Region. The team also deliver Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers Programme across three Dublin locations and have supported over 1,000 companies since the progamme originated. TU Dublin are proud to deliver record-winning numbers of conversions of New Frontiers participants into Enterprise Irelands HPSU investment pipeline, through our custodianship of this programme in the region. In 2020 Claire led the TU Dublin bid for funding within the Regional Enterprise Development Fund (REDF) and secured €2.15m of funding to deliver a centre of excellence in cyber security, The Collaboratory, located on the Blanchardstown Campus of the University. The centre is home to Ireland’s first training security operations centre (SOC) as well as a host of other facilities that support Irish start-ups, SMEs and MNCs with their training, consultancy and research and development needs. In 2022, whilst working on concept ideas designed to increase the number of female-led founders supported by the University, the process revealed that in order to fulfil the objective, that knowledge, exposure and inspiration at a much earlier stage, were key factors in influencing future pathways for women. Further research revealed that the same was true across many areas of female underrepresentation. From this discovery Claire developed the concept for TrailblazHER. The concept has since been advanced, trademarked and has raised over €1m in support from corporate partners, who share the same commitment to advancing gender equality. Future goals include raising another €1m for TrailblazHER, developing further partnerships with companies who share our passion and vision and ultimately, positively influencing the lives of thousands of Irish girls and women over the coming three years.
