Barry O'Donovan, Resource Efficiency Manager, ABP Food Group

Barry is the resource efficiency manager with ABP Food Group, where he is part of the environmental and sustainability department that overseas the environmental performance of the entire company. ABP operates across 50 production facilities with meat processing as its core business supported by operations in pet food, rendering and its biodiesel business t/a Olleco. Barry communicates with all levels of personnel on a number of environmental and sustainable initiatives. Resource efficiency is at the forefront of his work and this involves circular economy, water use and reuse, energy management, packaging and supply chain sustainability. Barry has assisted in the expansion of ABP's roadmap of future resource consumption. His work ensures that resource inputs are minimised, which helps ABP to decouple increased resource consumption from increased productivity.
