Planning & Infrastructure Taskforce

The Planning and Infrastructure Taskforce uses the expertise and business acumen of Council to develop and inform Dublin Chamber policy on:

· Metropolitan governance (including Directly Elected Mayor)

· Planning developments, National Planning Framework & the National Development Plan

· Dublin’s infrastructure gap: including transport, energy, water/wastewater, and affordable housing

· The transition to a sustainable and low-carbon economy and city by means of sustainable infrastructure.

Headline Items: NPF, NDP, Metrolink, BusConnects, DART+, Luas, Affordable Housing, Water Infrastructure, Energy Grid & Large Energy Users.

Recent Meetings:

  • May 2025: Group site visit to the Glass Bottle development.
  • June 2025: Meeting on the Chamber’s submission in respect of the National Development Plan.
  • August 2025: Visited the new National Children's Hospital to review progress on the project.
  • March 2026: Internal meeting to develop Dublin Chamber's infrastructure and housing recommendations for Budget 2027.
  • May 2026: Met with Jasmina Beehan, Assistant Secretary General at the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, to discuss progress on the implementation of the Accelerating Infrastructure Taskforce recommendations.
