The Budget and Competitiveness taskforce develops and informs Chamber policy on:
- Budgetary policy at national Government and local authority level
- Enterprise and competitiveness policy
- The transition to more sustainable work and business practices
- Safety in Dublin
Headline Items: Budget 2027, Commercial rates, Safety, Administrative burden, Business engagement with sustainability.
Recent Meetings:
- January 2026: Met with representatives from the Department of Finance to discuss business taxation supports and inform Dublin Chamber's priorities ahead of Budget 2027.
- March 2026: Internal meeting to finalise Dublin Chamber's Pre-Budget Submission for Budget 2027.
- April & June 2026: Met with the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment's Economic and Tax Policy Unit to discuss priorities throughout the Budget 2027 process.
- April 2026: Met with David Moloney, Secretary General of the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, and John McCarthy, Chief Economist at the Department of Finance, to outline Dublin Chamber's key recommendations for Budget 2027.
- July 2026: Pre-budget meeting with Minister Robert Troy at the Department of Finance.
