The Labour Taskforce uses the expertise and business acumen of Council to develop and inform Dublin Chamber policy on:
· Issues of relevance concerning labour supply and skills needs;
· Labour costs; and
· The future of work.
Headline items: Hybrid and Remote Working, Skills Shortages, Apprenticeships, Legislative Burden (including Statutory Sick Pay, Gender Pay Gap Reporting, Minimum Wage, Autoenrollment), Childcare
Recent Meetings:
- May & September 2025: Met with the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment to discuss the evolving labour legislation landscape and the administrative burden on employers, as well as Government’s Action Plan on Competitiveness.
- December 2025: Internal meeting to develop Dublin Chamber's submission to the consultation on the operation of the Right to Request Remote Work.
- June 2026: Met with SOLAS to discuss regional skills data and labour market trends in Dublin.
- July 2026: Internal meeting to review the current hybrid and remote working landscape and inform Dublin Chamber's policy recommendations.
- September 2026: Meeting with the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to discuss the National Training Fund and investment in AI skills.
