Dublin Chamber welcomes the agreement reached by Uisce Éireann and the parties involved in the judicial review of the Greater Dublin Drainage Project (GDD), avoiding a full court hearing. This is a welcome step one that allows Uisce Éireann to deliver on a critical piece of infrastructure for Dublin and Dublin Business.
Mary Rose Burke, Dublin Chamber CEO said, "We recognise Uisce Éireann’s commitment to additional measures intended to strengthen public confidence in the project, and we commend the collaborative approach taken to secure this outcome. The GDD project is essential infrastructure that underpins not just wastewater treatment capacity, but also housing delivery, economic growth and sustainable development across the Dublin region".
"Dublin Chamber has stressed that infrastructure bottlenecks are among the greatest constraints on growth, competitiveness and talent retention. The settlement removes one major hurdle. Now it is time to move the GDD Project from planning to delivery, and to give Dublin the infrastructure it needs to prosper". Ms Burke concluded.
