Dublin Chamber has today welcomed the announcement by the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste of over €50 million for 10 new initiatives under the Shared Island Unit. This funding announcement shows significant commitment to further developing the All-Island economy. This is something that Dublin Chamber has long been a supporter of, particularly considering our involvement in the Tri-Regions Partnership along with Cork Chamber and NI Chamber.
“Dublin Chamber has long been a supporter of deeper economic cooperation in an All-Island context. This new funding, particularly for an air link between Dublin and Derry, is very welcome and is something we have called for as part of our advocacy in the Tri-Region Partnership.”
“While this funding is most welcome, we would like to see the development of higher-speed rail between Belfast and Dublin further developed as part of the All-Ireland Rail Review. This upgrade of the line between Dublin and Belfast and a further connection to the Cork Main Line will allow business to be conducted with greater ease across the Island.”
“Dublin Chamber will continue to advocate for a strengthened economy, both north and south of the border, which allows business to be conducted with ease, for all our members.”
