Dublin Chamber has reiterated its steadfast support for the delivery of MetroLink.  Our recent surveys have shown that more than two-in-five Dublin businesses ranked MetroLink as the number one public transport project for prioritisation. This reflects the business community’s clear recognition of the project’s importance in tackling congestion, improving connectivity, and sustaining Dublin’s long-term economic growth.

While recent media commentary has raised questions about MetroLink, the project continues to stand out ahead of other proposed transport initiatives, both in urgency and in strategic importance for Dublin. The business community has expressed strong confidence that the project will reduce travel times and expand access to talent and markets.

Mary Rose Burke, CEO of Dublin Chamber, said: “Our members have spoken clearly. MetroLink remains a critical transport project for the Dublin Region, not just for connectivity from the Airport to the City Centre, but unlocking connectivity for Swords and the rest of the north County. While debate is healthy, we cannot lose sight of the fact that businesses see MetroLink as essential infrastructure for the city’s future. With more than 40 percent ranking it number one, the business community is strongly calling for its delivery.”

“Dublin Chamber welcomes open discussion on how best to deliver major infrastructure, but delays or hesitation will only undermine Dublin’s competitiveness. MetroLink represents a once in a generation opportunity to transform Dublin’s transport system and strengthen its ability to attract investment, talent, and tourism. The message from Dublin businesses is clear, progress must continue, and the delivery of MetroLink should remain a priority for Government”. Ms Burke concluded.
