A New Chapter for Dublin

Back to Articles

03 July 2025

Wednesday, 25th June: Dublin Chamber has welcomed the decision by Government to fully fund the recommendations of the Dublin Taskforce and to set up an agency that will operate under DCC to ensure that delivery of the recommendations remains on track.

Speaking today, Head of Public Affairs, Stephen Browne said “Dublin Chamber has been on record as a vocal supporter of the Taskforce recommendations and we are glad to see funding and tangible outputs now coming on stream. The very noticeable increase in high visibility Garda foot patrols are one such output from the Taskforce and now funding from Central Government to  Dublin City Council will see the remainder put in place.”

“In particular, the agency to oversee the rejuvenation and the measures to revamp O’Connell Street and the GPO are most welcome. Our country’s main street needs to be a vibrant focal point of our city and these recommendations will ensure that. They underscore our ambition that Dublin will continue to be a world-class city to live, work and run a business”
