These guidelines are designed to provide support to the European research community in utilising generative AI responsibly.

Iliana Ivanova, the Research Commissioner, highlighted the transformative power of generative AI in research while emphasising the critical importance of transparency and responsibility in its application. She stated, "Generative AI has the capacity to significantly enhance research endeavours, but its utilisation necessitates a commitment to transparency and accountability."
