Ireland’s Competitiveness Challenge 2023

At the beginning of the month, The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment released the advisory report, Ireland’s Competitiveness Challenge 2023. The Report outlines four key areas which Ireland can improve going forward to boost competitiveness. These four strategic challenges are underpinned by 19 tangible and actionable policy recommendations. The four strategic areas are as follows.

  • Reduced the cost of doing business in Ireland
  • Significantly improve the planning, development and delivery of infrastructure
  • Accelerate progress on the usage and generation of energy in line with our climate targets
  • Enable stronger productivity growth through research, development, and innovation.
