Dublin will welcome an international audience of business leaders, policymakers, researchers and innovators this October for the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026.
Taking place at the Convention Centre Dublin on 20th and 21st of October, the Summit will examine how bio-based innovation can move from research and development into practical business and economic activity. The programme will cover innovation, investment, markets, policy and the development of new European and Irish bioeconomy strategies.
The bioeconomy has growing relevance for businesses across sectors, from food and agriculture to energy, manufacturing and technology. It brings together questions around resource use, circularity, biodiversity and the development of new products and services, with a focus on how these can contribute to resilient economies.
Ireland's role as host also provides an opportunity to showcase the research, businesses and projects developing in this area. The Summit will include site visits across Ireland on 22 October, offering delegates the chance to see examples of bioeconomy activity in practice, including work in biomanufacturing, renewable energy, food research, circular resource use and sustainable agriculture.
With around 1,000 participants expected from policy, research, industry, civil society and international organisations, GBS 2026 will bring a global conversation about the future of the bioeconomy to Dublin.
