Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley T.D., has launched the public-facing side of Ireland’s Gender Pay Gap Portal, providing a central platform where gender pay gap data reported by employers can be viewed, compared and analysed by year, sector and company size.
The portal is designed to improve transparency around pay disparities and support efforts to reduce the gender pay gap. Employers with more than 50 employees are now required to publish gender pay gap information, with the Government planning to make submission to the portal mandatory from the 2026 reporting cycle.
According to the Department, Ireland’s gender pay gap has fallen from 14.4% in 2017 to a provisional 8.3% in 2024. The portal forms part of the Government’s wider efforts to advance gender equality and support the objectives of the National Strategy for Women and Girls 2025–2030.
The publicly accessible platform allows users to compare employer data across sectors and company sizes, providing greater visibility of gender pay trends and progress across the economy.
