The ECOPATH training is aimed at entrepreneurs and professionals working - or aspiring to work at - small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who want to understand and apply ESG reporting and circular economy principles in their organisation.
What is it?
ECOPATH adopts an innovative gamebook approach, combining gamified, interactive, and collaborative learning scenarios into a structured training course. Rather than passive learning, the programme puts you in realistic situations where you make decisions, receive immediate feedback, and build on your experience as you go.
Gamification is embedded throughout the programme in four ways:
- Realistic scenarios that mirror real workplace challenges
- A combination of collaborative group tasks and individual learning moments
- In-depth exploration of each topic across multiple connected exercises
- Interactive and engaging assessment activities
How does it look like?
The ECOPATH Gamebook consists of a total of 46 exercises organised alongside seven learning modules:
- Three are facilitated by a trainer and carried out in an online or face-to-face setting.
- The other four are self-study sessions completed through a dedicated application or through Moodle.
To complete the course, participants are expected to invest approximately 25 hours in total — equivalent to 1 ECTS credit — and to complete the assessments for each module.
What will I learn?
The Gamebook covers interconnected topics:
- ESG Reporting
- The Circular Economy
- Communicating your impact
Across the seven modules, you will build a solid understanding of ESG reporting and circular economy principles, explore how the two connect, and develop practical strategies for communicating your sustainability impact to different audiences.
The programme is highly practice-based and focuses on tools that are directly relevant to impact reporting in the European Union. For example, you will work with the Voluntary Sustainability Standard for SMEs (VSME), learning what to disclose, how to present it, and how to avoid common mistakes like greenwashing.
