Working Towards a Circular Economy in Europe

The project ECOPATH highlights the potential of the circular economy to support a transition towards ESG. Employees in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be provided with tools to better understand how they can improve their companies’ environmental impact through circular practices. 

The ECOPATH project highlights the potential of Circular Economy in supporting companies to implement Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) principles. It equips staff members of SMEs with the knowledge and skills to improve their companies’ environmental impact through circular approaches and prepares educators and trainers to transfer relevant green skills and knowledge on Circular Economy and ESG to adult learners through the development of a Circular Economy ESG Gamebook training. The latest project newsletter is available here.

Dublin Chamber are part of this project with Swedish organisations from (SwIdeas; CirEko), Germany (AFBB Akademie für berufliche Bildung), Croatia (SIMORA – Sisak Moslavina County Development Agency),and Spain (BIOAZUL)

The Circular Economy Hotspot event is taking place in Budapest 5-7 October 2026,the Business Council for Sustainable Development in Hungary (BCSDH) and the Hungarian Circular Economy Platform will host the 2026 European Circular Economy Hotspot.

The 2026 Budapest edition will focus on the business sector, and will bring together high-level policymakers, global thought leaders, financial institutions, corporates, innovators and civil society to explore actionable circular solutions and strategic collaborations.

Previous European hosts have included: Dublin, Bottrop, Catalonia, Belgium, Scotland, Luxembourg, Wales and Ljubljana. Collaboration lies at the core of these Hotspot events, offering a unique opportunity to build and strengthen partnerships both within Hungary and internationally—with other nations and regions.
