AIready.ie is a government-led initiative designed to support individuals to upskill and help future-proof Ireland’s workforce for an AI-driven economy. Developed by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, in partnership with the National Skills Council and SOLAS, the platform provides a suite of introductory courses aimed at helping individuals and businesses better understand artificial intelligence (AI) and its practical applications. It offers free, entry-level learning to support employees and business leaders in exploring how AI tools can be used in day-to-day operations, supporting broader digital skills development across organisations.

Alongside initiatives such as AIready.ie, Ireland is also playing an active role at European level in advancing AI adoption. As part of its Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2026, the Government will host the International AI Summit in Dublin on 14 October, marking the launch of European AI Innovation Month. This will involve a programme of events running through to November across the EU. The Summit will focus on applied AI and its role in driving competitiveness, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and experts to highlight how AI can deliver tangible value across the economy and society.
