Dublin Chamber Engages Members in New RESPONSE Sustainability Project

Back to Articles

27 March 2026

RESPONSE is an international Erasmus+ project that aims to strengthen the sustainability capacities of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through training and support tools focused on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. SMEs face increasing pressure from customers and investors to communicate ESG information, but many lack the financial resources, technical expertise, robust data collection processes, and sufficient incentives to undertake this voluntary task.

The project was created to address these shortcomings by providing accessible materials that will enable SMEs to understand and apply sustainability standards, conduct materiality analyses, and generate ESG reports in a simplified manner. These tools will be available free of charge, facilitating their independent adoption.

The international consortium responsible for the project comprises expert organizations from Italy, Ireland, Spain, and Bulgaria, ensuring a diverse and representative approach.

Through development of ESG reporting SMEs will be able to communicate effectively on how they are developing sustainability solutions for their businesses.

Thank you to all our members who completed the recent survey on your sustainability efforts. We recently met consortium members in Valencia to discuss the next stages of the project and we met with local Valencian SMEs at an awareness raising event to talk to them about challenges they were facing implementing sustainable business practices.

We are also looking to Dublin Chamber members to help us develop a learning management system for this course.  Please contact miriam@dublinchamber.ie for more information https://sites.google.com/fondazioneisi.org/response-project/home
