Dublin Chamber recently held a roundtable discussion with members on Ireland’s Employment Permit system, where the mismatch between the Critical Skills Occupations List (CSOL) and the Ineligible Occupations List (IOL) was highlighted by several businesses. There was a strong consensus that the lists are out of sync with the evolving needs of Ireland’s labour market.

The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment is currently undertaking a review of these lists to ensure that the permit system is effective in meeting Ireland’s labour demands. Dublin Chamber will be making a submission on behalf of members, and we welcome all feedback and business perspectives.
