The National Skills Council has released its inaugural publication, Skills Matter: Priorities to Shape Our Future Capabilities, offering its first strategic advice to Government on Ireland’s skills priorities.  

Key recommendations include: 

• Establishing a National Skills Observatory to enhance data availability and coherence across the skills system. 

• Targeted use of the National Training Fund to address priority areas. 

• Supporting the mainstreaming of flexible learning opportunities across all levels. 

The publication also previews a systems-mapping research project of Ireland’s skills landscape, due for completion by year-end. The report publication can be read in full here.
