Dublin Chamber has continued to deliver insights from members to help deliver the ECOPATH project. The main driving force behind this project is the need to support efforts against increasing climate challenges by creating pathways for European companies to become more sustainable. This need has become a priority within the EU's Green Deal. In this context, the European Commission is introducing stricter reporting requirements for companies in EU member states through the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
One approach that is emerging to enable companies to assess their impact is the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework. Within this framework, the circular economy (CE) plays a crucial role and is one of the six environmental objectives set out in the EU Taxonomy.
ECOPATH highlights the potential of the circular economy to support a transition towards ESG. Employees in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be provided with tools to better understand how they can improve their companies’ environmental impact through circular practices.
Over the past three month we have talked to SME members, Educators in the area of ESG and Experts working in the area of ESG. We will work together with the rest of the project team in developing a training gamebook for SME members to deliver this training. Next week the consortium will meet in Dresden with expert guidance from our project partner.
