Irish Integrity Consultancy Builds Momentum Across Ireland and the UK

01 September 2026

Kildare-based Fitzgerald Forensic & Integrity Services (FFIS) is marking a strong first year of growth as an independent integrity and risk advisory firm supporting organisations across Ireland and the UK. Its work helps clients prevent and respond to employee fraud, misconduct and wider integrity failures through independent assessments, ongoing advisory support and practical training.

Established in July 2025 by experienced fraud investigator Michael Fitzgerald, FFIS brings investigative experience, independent assessment and practical advisory support to organisations seeking to strengthen integrity, misconduct and fraud risk management before issues escalate into costly incidents.

A major milestone during 2026 was the completion of two detailed fraud health checks for a regulated UK health insurer. The work examined fraud governance, misconduct risk and operational controls, including a focused assessment of the organisation’s claims function. The engagement showed how FFIS applies an independent, evidence-led approach in a complex regulated business while producing clear and practical recommendations for management.

Closer to home, FFIS has continued to expand its independent assessment work with Irish organisations, including financial services firms and credit unions. These reviews help leadership teams understand where exposure may exist across people, processes, controls and culture, and where targeted improvements will have the greatest impact.

Training has also become an important part of the business. FFIS has delivered and developed practical programmes covering employee fraud, misconduct, investigations and fraud awareness for staff, managers and specialist teams. Rather than relying on generic compliance content, its sessions use realistic scenarios, decision points and warning signs that participants can apply in their day-to-day roles.

The consultancy is now broadening its services further. New work includes fraud and compliance health checks, protected disclosures and speak-up reviews, anti-bribery and corruption assessments, investigation readiness support and ongoing integrity advisory services. Looking towards 2027, FFIS is developing a dedicated speak-up governance review for organisations with more than 50 staff, helping them assess whether their protected disclosures processes, reporting channels, response arrangements and staff communications are aligned with legislative expectations and good practice. Training engagements, collaborative events and assessment work are already planned through the remainder of 2026, with further activity and professional initiatives extending into 2027.

FFIS founder Michael Fitzgerald said: “The first year has confirmed that organisations want integrity support that is independent, experienced and practical. Our role is not to add unnecessary bureaucracy. It is to help clients understand their real exposure across fraud, misconduct and speak-up culture, strengthen the right controls and build confidence before an issue arises.”

FFIS is an independent integrity and risk advisory firm supporting organisations across fraud, misconduct, speak-up governance and wider integrity risks. As the business looks towards 2027, its focus remains on practical, evidence-led services that help organisations strengthen governance, meet legislative expectations and build confidence before issues arise. Organisations interested in reviewing their fraud, misconduct or speak-up arrangements are encouraged to contact FFIS for an initial confidential discussion.
