The Business Journalists Association of Ireland (BJAI) today launched the 2026 BJAI Corporate Challenge Quiz, in aid of Dublin Simon Community, with the aim of bringing the total funds raised to €750,000. The funds are used to bring life-changing supports to people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness and come at a time when the cost of providing these services continues to rise. daa, the operator of Dublin and Cork airports, is returning as the anchor sponsor for this year’s event, which will take place on Monday, 21st of September, at The Radisson Blu Royal Hotel at Golden Lane. With capacity limited to a maximum of 40 tables of 4, organisations wishing to compete against the brightest people with the best knowledge of sports, news, politics, music and more will need to act fast and secure their spot.
Each year, the BJAI Corporate Challenge Quiz attracts entrants from many of Ireland’s leading organisations. Running for 23 years and now a staple fixture of the corporate calendar, the quiz gives participants the opportunity to publicly eviscerate their competitors, suppliers, or advisers, while raising funds for a very worthy cause. The cost for a corporate table of four is €1,250. A journalist will join each corporate team of four as an additional team member for the evening's quiz. Renowned broadcaster Bryan Dobson will reprise his role as quizmaster.
Communications advisory firm, The Reputations Agency, is donating event management and public relations services for the 11th year. The BJAI Corporate Challenge is open to companies wishing to raise funds for the Dublin Simon Community and spend an evening with dozens of the country’s best – if not brightest – business journalists. Since the annual event began 23 years ago, it has raised just under €700,000 for Dublin Simon Community.
To register your corporate table now – and to fight it out for the glory of being named the 2026 BJAI Corporate Challenge Champion (and quite a few prizes too!), simply email partnerships@dubsimon.ie or info@thereputationsagency.ie to receive a registration form.
Kevin Cullinane, Deputy Director of Communications at daa, said: “We are delighted to be on board again this year to support the BJAI Corporate Challenge. It is such a fantastic evening that brings businesses and journalists together, quizzing all about the year gone past – but that doesn’t mean it’s in any way easy!"
Catherine Kenny, CEO of Dublin Simon Community, said: “For people experiencing homelessness, practical support can be the turning point that changes everything. It can mean a safe place to stay, access to vital healthcare and wellbeing services, and a pathway towards a more secure future. At a time when demand continues to outpace resources, the generosity of the business and media communities is more important than ever. Their support provides the funding that sustains essential services, helping individuals and families move beyond crisis and rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.”
Donal O’Donovan, BJAI Chair, said the BJAI Corporate Challenge brings journalists and the business community together to support an important cause. "The Corporate Challenge is a unique event, bringing sworn enemies and old friends together for one night of the year."
Alan Tyrrell, CEO of The Reputations Agency, said: “Daily life is made exponentially more complex when an all-encompassing challenge like having no home is added to the mix. Faced with these complexities, those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless can become isolated and vulnerable. The BJAI, along with sponsors and participants in this quiz, drive real impact and fund life-changing supports provided by Dublin Simon Community for people who need it, and we are delighted to once again be partners in this event.”
