Vodafone Ireland has announced the appointment of Owen Pendlebury as Head of Cyber Security.
From County Louth, Owen joins Vodafone from Bank of Ireland where he served as Head of Cyber Resilience, leading the bank’s cyber defence and resilience programme.
With extensive experience across financial services, consulting and technology, Owen will lead Vodafone Ireland’s cyber security function, overseeing strategy, governance and risk management, while enhancing the resilience of Vodafone’s cyber defence capabilities to protect the business and customers in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
The appointment comes as cyber security becomes increasingly critical to supporting secure digital transformation and building trust in an increasingly connected world.
Working closely with Vodafone’s EU Head of Cyber Security, Owen joins the Dublin team and Vodafone Group’s network of more than 900 cyber security experts, helping to safeguard Vodafone and its customers against evolving cyber threats.
As Vodafone Ireland’s Head of Cyber Security, Owen will also drive collaboration across Vodafone's European cyber security community, bringing global expertise, insight and intelligence to support customers and strengthen cyber resilience in Ireland.
With 2.4 million customers, Vodafone is the number one mobile network and second largest broadband provider in Ireland. Six in ten Irish businesses are Vodafone customers.

As the longest-established telecommunications company in Ireland, Vodafone is marking its 25th year in Ireland this year. Since 2001, the company has invested more than €20 billion in the Irish market in today’s terms, including €5.8 billion in capital investment. Vodafone recently announced an additional €360 million investment in network and digital infrastructure up to 2030.
