USIT, Ireland's leading work and intern abroad experts, is proud to announce its membership to Dublin’s Chamber of Commerce. This membership reflects USIT's continued commitment to building stronger relationships with businesses, academic institutions, and government stakeholders who share a common goal of investing in Ireland’s future talent.
Founded by Dublin students in 1959, USIT is dedicated to helping Irish students, graduates and young professionals to gain valuable global experience through their work and intern abroad programs.

Lisa Collender, USIT Head of Ireland & Advocacy, says: “In today’s crowded job market, international internships or traineeships are a way for Irish students and graduates to gain a competitive advantage. Employers are looking for candidates who can demonstrate adaptability, initiative, and resilience. By interning abroad, participants not only gain hands-on professional experience, but also develop essential soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and cultural awareness – increasing their employability when they return to Ireland.”
USIT offers a range of international internship and trainee programmes in the USA, from 2–3 month summer placements through its J1 Career programme to structured 12–18 month professional traineeships through its Trainee USA programme. Certain trainee pathways are also open to professionals without a degree who have at least five years’ full-time professional experience in their sector. These opportunities are designed to help participants gain relevant industry experience, broaden their professional networks and develop a clearer understanding of their long-term career goals.

USIT Grad USA alum, a one-year visa sponsorship program for Irish graduates, Odhran Whelehan says of his experience: “Doing Grad USA was genuinely life changing. I got real experience in my field, made friends from all over the world and travelled to cities I’d only ever seen in films. If you’re on the fence about going, just go."

USIT also offers 1-12 month internship opportunities in the UK for overseas students studying in Ireland through their sibling work and travel brand, JENZA.

USIT looks forward to contributing to the Dublin Chamber of Commerce community and engaging with industry leaders to create opportunities that support international collaboration and pathways for the next generation of young Irish professionals.
