Prime Arena Holdings has opened its register of interest, Season Zero, inviting Dublin Chamber members to engage with and help shape the next chapter of Dublin’s live events, sport, and cultural infrastructure.
What is Prime Arena?
Prime Arena (“the Arena”) is a world-class, multi-purpose arena development located in Cherrywood, Dublin, designed to introduce a North American-style sport and entertainment experience to Ireland, alongside the development of the country’s first permanent Olympic-standard ice facility and professional ice hockey franchise.
The project will deliver two Olympic-sized ice rinks, including a main arena with an 8,000 seated capacity, expandable to over 10,500 for major events and concerts. The second rink will support elite training, development and community use
Often described as a scaled Madison Square Garden, the main Arena will have the ability to transition rapidly from ice to a multi-purpose event floor, enabling activity ranging from professional ice hockey to concerts, conferences and exhibitions within a single venue in a single day.
Working with global design firm Populous, internationally recognised for delivering some of the world’s leading sports and entertainment venues, including projects such as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Sphere in Las Vegas, the venture is expected to contribute approximately €298 million annually to the Irish economy, supporting thousands of jobs and driving significant visitor activity into Dublin and the wider region.
Prime Arena Holdings is progressing towards submitting their planning application to Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, expected this July, with ongoing engagement across local stakeholders, sporting bodies and commercial partners helping to shape its long-term role within Ireland’s live events and sports landscape.
Located in Cherrywood, one of Ireland’s fastest growing strategic development zones, Prime Arena is intended to support the area’s expanding residential and business community, supported by strong public transport connectivity and contributing to long-term economic growth and activity in South Dublin.
What is Season Zero?
Season Zero has been created to give businesses early access at a formative stage of the project, ahead of key planning milestones and future commercial roll-out.
