Cliona’s Foundation is a national organisation providing financial assistance directly to parents of children caring for a seriously sick child, with life-limiting or chronic complex care needs across the island of Ireland, to help with the non-medical expenses related to caring for their child.

They are absolutely delighted to announce the return of their much-anticipated Winter Gala for 2026, taking place on Thursday, November 19th, in the elegant surroundings of The Shelbourne Hotel. The evening will be hosted by Muireann O’Connell.

In partnership with their incredible sponsor, Metis Ireland, they are preparing for a truly spectacular evening—one filled with glamour, celebration, and meaningful impact. Over the years, the support of Metis has helped Cliona’s achieve remarkable milestones, allowing them to continue supporting families when they need it most. This year promises to be the most inspiring gala yet, as they come together to celebrate these achievements and the lives they have touched.

2026 marks 18 years of Clionas working on behalf of families in Ireland whose daily struggles are at the heart of what they do. Since its launch, Cliona’s Foundation has supported over 1800 families across 31 counties, and they expect at least 200 families will apply for financial assistance in 2026 equating to €500,000 in family grants. They receive no state funding and rely entirely on fundraising and events to continue to meet the needs of the families who apply for financial assistance.
