Dublin's property community to raise vital funds for life-saving cancer research at landmark annual event
Hooke & MacDonald is proud to be organising Property Picnic 2026, taking place on Thursday, 21st May 2026 in Dublin city centre. Now in its fifth year, the evening is firmly established as one of the biggest events in the social calendar of Ireland’s property sector, where the industry comes together in support of Cancer Trials Ireland, funding life-changing cancer research and growing awareness of the charity and its work.
This year's event will be held across two iconic Dublin venues: guests will gather from 6pm to 10pm at 1 Windmill Lane, Dublin 2, before the celebrations continue until late at The Market Bar on Fade Street, Dublin 2. The event promises good food, a choice of drinks, and live entertainment from the Boys of Summer band, and DJ Marty Guilfoyle.
Since its inaugural year in 2022, Property Picnic has raised over €600,000 for Cancer Trials Ireland, directly enabling 514 patients across Ireland to access cancer clinical trials spanning breast cancer, prostate cancer, and multiple myeloma.
Speaking about the impact of the event, Angela Clayton-Lea, CEO of Cancer Trials Ireland, said:
"For every hundred people who sit in the doctor's office, holding hands with their loved ones, hearing the word 'cancer' for the first time, just three to four of those people get to go on a trial. We are working hard to change that, because trials get you access to the newest and best treatments in the world. The Property Picnic has been instrumental in helping us do that, and we are deeply grateful to everyone in the property community who continues to support us.”
Cancer Trials Ireland (CHY12492) focuses specifically on Investigator-Initiated Trials - doctor and researcher-led studies where the motivation is scientific progress, not commercial gain. These trials explore critical questions such as whether using less chemotherapy, or novel combinations of existing treatments, can produce better patient outcomes. Without fundraising events like the Property Picnic, many of these trials would simply not happen.
Funds raised to date have supported nine distinct cancer clinical trials, with further trials currently recruiting patients across eleven centres throughout the island of Ireland.
Renagh MacDonald, Organiser and Director at Hooke & MacDonald, commented:
"We are incredibly proud to be leading the organisation of Property Picnic 2026 and to once again rally our industry around such a worthy and impactful cause. The property community has shown remarkable generosity over the past four years, and we're determined to build on that momentum this May."
Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses across the Irish property sector wishing to support the event and maximise their visibility within the industry. Interested parties are encouraged to get in touch with the organising committee directly.
