05 February 2026

At a time when business resilience is increasingly tested by cyber threats, regulatory pressure, and the rapid adoption of AI-driven technologies, ROCTEL, a Cisco Premier Partner Managed Service Provider (MSP), has released its Network & Cybersecurity Report 2026, offering an evidence-based view of how real-world business networks are actually performing.

Developed in response to strong engagement from ROCTEL’s subscriber base of 12,000, the report reflects growing demand for greater visibility into the state of business networks across Ireland.

The report is built on anonymised, aggregated telemetry collected throughout 2025 from a representative sample of 50 ROCTEL-managed business locations across Ireland. The result is a practical industry benchmark designed for decision-makers seeking clarity on performance, resilience, and cyber hygiene.

Powered by Cisco networking and security technologies, the report examines how ROCTEL-managed environments operate in practice. Drawing on data from urban, rural, and mixed-industry settings, it provides insight into network reliability, application usage, and operational resilience, while exploring how modern managed services approach risk, visibility, and governance as the threat landscape evolves. In particular, it reflects the industry-wide shift away from traditional perimeter threats toward challenges driven by encrypted applications and everyday user behaviour.

According to Daniel Fernandez, Director of Engineering & Services at ROCTEL, the report was created to challenge assumptions and validate real-world performance:

“We wanted to assess our environments using real operational data. This report allows us to evaluate cyber hygiene and ensure the Cisco technologies underpinning our ROCSOLID and Cyber Defence services continue to deliver best-in-class outcomes as networks and threats evolve.”

For business leaders, the timing is significant. As organisations prepare for AI-driven workloads, increased automation, and heightened regulatory scrutiny under frameworks such as NIS2 and DORA, the role of the network is becoming increasingly strategic. Stable connectivity, predictable performance, and security architectures capable of maintaining visibility across encrypted traffic are now foundational to operational resilience.

Cormac Reid, Founder and Director of ROCTEL, believes transparency is essential:

“There’s no shortage of promises in this industry. We wanted to publish something grounded in evidence with human oversight.”

The ROCTEL Network & Cybersecurity Report 2026 is intended as a resource for executives, IT leaders, and compliance stakeholders seeking a grounded, real-world reference point. It demonstrates what resilient, well-governed networks look like today—and what organisations should be aiming for as they move into 2026 and beyond.
