The Business Post’s inaugural Sustainability in the Built Environment Ireland Summit takes place on 17th June in Croke Park, Dublin

The retrofit of Ireland's commercial, residential and public sector buildings is central to reaching our 2030 and 2050 national and international decarbonisation targets. Construction and the built environment are directly responsible for 37% of Ireland’s emissions, the same as agriculture. This is made up of operational emissions associated with the energy we use to heat, cool, and light our buildings and embodied carbon emissions.

Thankfully buildings are a crucial area of opportunity when it comes to environmental and social sustainability. From innovative materials and energy-efficient design to smart technologies and policy shifts, the solutions are within our reach. But achieving net zero in the built environment requires collaboration, bold action, and a shared commitment to change.

The Business Post Sustainability in the Built Environment Summit is a one-day summit which will bring together leading researchers, practitioners and policymakers to explore innovative strategies for reducing the carbon footprint of our built environment. Featuring strategies and solutions for scaling up building decarbonisation, our agenda will explore innovation, policy, technology, best practices and the challenges and opportunities ahead to drive meaningful progress.
