The retrofit of Ireland's commercial, residential and public sector buildings is central to reaching our 2030 and 2050 national and international decarbonisation targets. Construction and the built environment are directly responsible for 37% of Ireland’s emissions, the same as agriculture. This is made up of operational emissions associated with the energy we use to heat, cool, and light our buildings and embodied carbon emissions.
Thankfully buildings are a crucial area of opportunity when it comes to environmental and social sustainability.
