Ireland's online safety charity, CyberSafeKids, is calling on all companies across the country to take a CyberBreak and Disconnect to Reconnect!
Research has shown that spending less time online helps to reduce stress and anxiety, improves the quality of sleep, helps with low mood, and boosts mental health and wellbeing for both children and adults. However, with our lives being overscheduled and digitally demanding, this is easier said than done.
From 5pm on Friday, October 18th 2024 encourage your staff (and your own family!) to take a 24-hour break from their digital devices (phones, tablets, computers, gaming consoles, etc.) and promote a healthier online and offline balance. Over 24,000 people have participated in CyberBreak to date, so what are you waiting for?
Register your company's interest today and get your staff to look forward to switching off, unplugging, and disconnecting to enjoy quality device free time with their families.

3 Top Tips to Help You Balance Your Online and Offline Lives
- Try to make sure that your phone is not the first thing that you look at in the morning. Make it an active choice to do something else - stretching, meditating, eating breakfast.
- Avoid using your phone as an alarm clock (there are plenty of alternatives) and try to keep phones, iPads, laptops, etc. out of the bedroom so your device use doesn’t interfere with your sleep.
- Try and make mealtimes, especially if it's with children, a device-free time.
Founded in 2015, CyberSafeKids, Ireland's child online safety charity, provides expert guidance to primary and secondary schools to help children, teachers, and parents navigate the online world in a safe and responsible way.
