John set up logistics and delivery company Nightline with his friend Dave Field in 1992.?They each invested £10,000 redundancy money they’d received and ran the business out of a spare bedroom in John’s house.?Nightline grew into one of the biggest express delivery and logistics companies in Ireland, with?a turnover of more than €65 million and over 1,000 employees at its height.?The company created?the Parcel Motel service which offered a “virtual address” so customers could purchase goods online from places that did not deliver to their home country.?The company was sold?to UPS for €30 million in 2017. John set up OOHpod, a?smart locker service that makes it easy to pick up and return parcels in your own time, last year. Uniquely?OOHpod?have a fitting service and returns facility available on site – so consumers can try on their purchases and return them if needed.?OOHPod?will be the first smart locker service in Ireland to bring refrigerated pods to Irish grocery retailers and appropriate lockers for pharmacies to offer prescriptions for immediate collection
