Ann Marie Cagney is the Garda Assistant Commissioner for the Dublin Metropolitan Region, appointed in June 2020. She was promoted to Detective Superintendent in 2015, serving in the Garda National Protective Services Unit in Harcourt Street, and to Chief Superintendent three years later.
