Biography
David Kelly is an Executive Director at Gas Networks Ireland, the commercial semi-state company responsible for Ireland’s €2.7 billion gas network. David is responsible for customers and business development and has over twenty years executive experience.
David lives in Drumcondra, is a father of two and has been proudly involved with Dublin Chamber since 2006, as an SME and a corporate member.
Election Statement
I will support Dublin Chamber in all its endeavours and my policy focus will be infrastructure, sustainability, and the future of work.
We face challenges trying to build necessary, strategic infrastructure in Dublin given the obstacles our planning system can present. I will apply my experience across many sectors in advocating strongly for solutions.
Decarbonising the energy system whilst simultaneously ‘keeping the lights on’ and facilitating sustainable economic growth is a challenge I’m very familiar with. This is a topic along with energy security for Dublin that I will prioritise.
We have witnessed fundamental changes to how we work and conduct business. Hybrid working models, our growing reliance on broadband and the impact of this on our city has to be considered.
