About the speakers:

Paula Phelan
Paula Phelan, ACIS, is head of the company secretarial department in Mason Hayes+Curran, Solicitors. She has been a company secretary for over 20 years and has extensive and wide experience as a chartered secretary having previously worked in the company secretarial department of a leading accountancy firm and, before that as deputy company secretary of a large quoted plc. Paula and her team provide advice to a wide range of client companies on corporate governance, company law compliance and company secretarial practice. She is co-author of the fourth edition of Jordans Irish Company Secretarial Precedents (Jordans, 2009) and is a contributor to the Irish chapter of the International Expatriate Employment Handbook.

Paula Mullin
Paula Mullin is an executive coach and facilitator and has been with Drury, one of Ireland's leading communications consultancies since 2003. In Drury Paula leads the facilitation and training area of the business. Paula specialises in facilitating and designing communications programmes for a wide range of clients including CRH, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and NUIG. Most recently Paula was responsible for facilitating the initial stages of the development of Your Country Your Call the initiative led by Dr Martin McAleese. With a background in psychology, Paula is passionate about understanding how people communicate with each other and advising on how to enhance people's natural communication skills to be highly effective communicators. Paula's work has been featured in the Irish Times and RTE One's Marian Finucane show in the past.

Chairperson: Gerard Ryan
The event will be chaired by Gerard Ryan, Partner in the Corporate Department of Mason Hayes+Curran. Gerard regularly advises companies, statutory bodies and directors in relation to corporate governance issues, matters of company law and the duties and obligations of directors and is a regular lecturer to professional bodies and media contributor in relation to matters of corporate governance.
