Willie White is Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Dublin Theatre Festival. Established in 1957, the festival is a flagship event in the city’s cultural calendar and takes place from the last Thursday in September for eighteen days.
Previously Willie was Artistic Director of Project Arts Centre for nine years and before that he worked in RTÉ television for four years. He has been a member of the Culture Recreation and Amenity SPC of Dublin City Council since 2010 and is President of IETM, an international performing arts network based in Brussels.
A Masters graduate of Trinity College and UCD, Willie is married with two boys and a girl. He resides in Phibsboro and is an enthusiast for living between the canals and for the the amenities of the city centre. He supports the Dubs when they’re not playing his home county of Laois and enjoys running, cycling and yoga.
Willie was elected to the Council of Dublin Chamber in 2015.
