Business Breakfast on Doing Business in Québec

Dublin Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Embassy of Canada in Ireland and the Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce, hosted a networking breakfast titled “Doing Business with Québec” on October 28, 2016. Opening remarks were provided by H.E. Kevin Vickers, Ambassador of Canada to Ireland and Mary Rose Burke, CEO Dublin Chamber. There was a keynote speech by Mr Jean Charest, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, and Former Premier of Québec, with additional remarks given by Christos Sirros, Québec Agent General in London.

The Discussion focused on opportunities presented by the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and business opportunities in Québec. Mr Charest has been instrumental in negotiating the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).

Montréal, like Dublin, has been transformed into a tech hub in recent years and several synergies exist for cooperation in this area. Other areas of opportunity in Québec include agriculture, aerospace, biofood, finance, life sciences, information technologies, clean technologies, transportation and logistics. This event is aimed at Irish businesses that are doing business in or are interested in doing business with Canada.
